John Colicos, who created the role of Star Trek's first Klingon passed away
Monday. Colicos played the part of Kor in the Original Series first season
episode "Errand of Mercy." Colicos returned as Kor in the Star Trek: Deep
Space Nine episodes "Blood Oath" and "The Sword of Kahless," and then
finally met a warrior's end in "Once More Unto the Breach."
Colicos is also familiar to fans of science fiction for his role as the
treacherous
Baltar on the television series Battlestar Galactica. When he was 22, Colicos
became the youngest actor ever to play King Lear at London's Old Vic, a
role
he won critical acclaim playing at Canada's Stratford Festival.
A veteran of the screen, he appeared in over 40 films and countless television
shows including Gunsmoke, Mission Impossible, Night Gallery, Hawaii Five-O,
Wonder Woman and Charlie's Angels. His film credits include "War Drums,"
"Anne of the Thousand Days," "Raid on Rommel" and the 1981 version of "The
Postman Always Rings Twice." Colicos was 71.
